CONTRIBUTION
TO KNOWLEDGE.
I have contributed to knowledge in multidimensional
ways. Apart from my primary commitment
to teaching and project supervision at both the graduate and undergraduate
levels, I have also been actively involved in conducting researches into areas
that are capable of expanding the frontiers of knowledge essentially in my
chosen field, ‘Counselling/Social/Personality Psychology’. This field belongs to the general branch of
Health Psychology which specifically attempts to address psychological problems
located in the area of interpersonal relationship, self disclosure attribute,
general sociability profile etc. Remove them and a negative reinforcement
capable of enhancing desirable behaviour is established. The indices by which
personality development is measured include; a) a norm compliant
social interaction attribute that cuts across all social strata. These
social strata are profiled along such platforms as engendering behaviours
conducive to learning tasks such as those that obtain in the educational
sector. Some of my publications contain the reports of the researches and
informed recommendations made in this important area of personality
development. b) Personal efficiency; which manifests in one’s ability to
understand social norms and responsibility attribution that moderate good
conduct in a given social environment. This also engages the focus of some of
my published works. c) Rebuilding degenerative dysfunctional
behaviour through the modern methods of counseling assistance, occupies
the central thrust of my other published works. While, d) Test development
through standardization for the Nigerian, in particular, and African population
at large engages a large chunk of my academic focus.
